A list is announced of more than one million population and less than one million population in index 2020. And a ranking is given to all cities. There are 111 cities that took part in this ranking competition. And this was organized last year.
Among all the cities in India, with a population of more than one million, Bengaluru has come at top rank as the best city to live a comfortable life. And the IT capital of India, Pune has got second place in ranking. Meanwhile Ahmedabad has gotten third place in 111 cities.
A PIB press release said, “Bengaluru came out as the top performer in the Million+ group [in category of ‘population more than million], followed by Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Surat, Navi Mumbai, Coimbatore, Vadodara, Indore, and Greater Mumbai,”.
The existence of comfort list, Bareilly, Dhanbad and The Srinagar got lowest rank.
In downtown with residents of less than million, Shimla got the topmost rank pursued by the Bhubaneswar; meanwhile the city of Bihar Muzaffarpur got the lowest rank, according to the comfort of living list of 2020. It has been organized by the Ministry of Urban Affairs.
In the existence of comfort, there took part in 111 cities and it has been organized in last year 2020. The ranking has decided according to the population in cities of more than one million and population with less than one million, in the list of ease of living.
“The Ease of Living Index [EoLI] is an assessment tool that evaluates the quality of life and the impact of various initiatives for urban development,” the release said.
It further included: “It makes available a wide-ranging understanding of contributing cities from corner to corner in India based on the excellence of life, economic-ability of a city, and its sustainability and resilience. The assessment also incorporates the residents’ view on the services provided by city administration through a Citizen Perception Survey.”

MUNICIPAL PERFORMANCE INDEX (MPI)
Apart from this, the comfort of living list also announced the final list of the ranking of Municipal Performance Index (MPI). In the millions kind, Indore is the top most city and after this Surat and Bhopal respectively. And in the less than million list New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) comes out as the leader and the next are Tirupati and Gandhinagar.
“The MPI observed the sectoral presentation of 111 municipalities (with Delhi being assessed independently for NDMC, and the three Municipal corporations) diagonally five verticals which contain 20 sectors and 100 displays in all totality. The five verticals below MPI are Services, Finance, Policy, Technology and Governance,” the Centre said in a bureaucrat discharge.
