Karachi Plane Crash in Residential Area Nearby Karachi Airport in Pakistan; 99 People Aboard, 2 Survived, 97 Dead

Karachi A passenger plane of Pakistan International Airlines crashed in the residential area of ​​Karachi on Friday. PIA flight PK 8303 was coming from Lahore to Karachi. The engine of the plane failed a few kilometers from the airport and a few minutes before landing. He caught fire and crashed before reaching Jinnah International Airport. There were 91 passengers and 8 crew members aboard the plane. The passengers included 51 men, 31 women, and 9 children.

Officials have so far confirmed 97 deaths. These include a 5-year-old child and Ansari Naqvi, a senior journalist. It is not sure whether all the bodies belong to the passengers, or some of them are residents of the colony. Authorities have confirmed the safety of two passengers aboard Bank of Punjab President Zafar Masood and Zubair

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also expressed grief over this accident.

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said that I am saddened by the accident, but our priority now is relief and rescue operations.

The plane fell in the Model Colony’s Jinnah Garden area in Karachi. Many houses caught fire there. This area is also known as Malir. According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan, the pilot informed the air traffic controller about the engine failure but lost contact just one minute before landing.
