Violence exploded on controversial social media post in Bengaluru, Section 144 forced- 2 killed and 110 injured

The raging mob is said to have smashed furniture and vehicles in the recently demolished DJ Halli police station. Police used tear gas shells to control the crowd but the situation did not improve. After this, the police fired in the air. Meanwhile, one person was found dead and three people injured in the crowd. In a tweet by the Bangalore Police, violent incidents occurred in two police station areas – KG Halli and DJ Halli. Police had to resort to lathi-charge, tear gas as well as firing to control the situation.

Earlier in the DJ Halli area, tensions arose over a controversial social media post against followers of a particular religion allegedly belonging to a close relative of an MLA. At night, the mob attacked the MLA’s house. The mob also pelted stones at the police and damaged several vehicles. A police officer’s vehicle was also targeted by the mob. Municipal Commissioner of Police Kamal Pant visited the area. 

According to the police, a mob gathered outside the MLA’s house in Kaval Byrasandra demanding the arrest of the MLA and his relative. The mob also threw stones at the MLA’s house. The mob also set fire to vehicles parked on the road. Police have reportedly taken the poster into custody. He is said to have refused to post and claimed that his social media account was hacked. Meanwhile, Pulakeshi Nagar MLA Akhand Srinivas Murthy said that I have nothing to do with this dispute.

 I have demanded the police to arrest the post writer. Former state Congress president Dinesh Gundurao said that the way the MLA and the police station was attacked is condemnable. If someone has written something disputed, then legal action should be taken against him. Former minister Zameer Ahmed Khan, who reached DJ Halli police station, said that the incident is expected, it is expected that the police will take action.

Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that violence is not the solution. a police force has been deployed in the area. The police have been given complete freedom to control the situation. No matter how influential the culprit is, action will be taken against him. But no one will be allowed to take law in their hands.
