Who is Asaduddin Owaisi?

Born in Hyderabad on 13 May 1969, Asaduddin Owaisi has been the president of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) since 2008. He is a lawyer by profession and earned his degree from London. In 1994, he won the election from the Charminar assembly seat. In the 1999 assembly elections, he defeated Syed Shah Noor Haq Khadri of Telugu Desam Party by about 90 thousand votes from this seat.

In 2004, Owaisi won the election for the first time from the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat. He has been the winner 4 times since then.
